An educational identity workshop to the city of Arkhangelsk, located right above Saint-Petersburg. For this workshop a select group of students went to learn more about the cultural identity of the city and ideate in a week-long design sprint for concepts that could refresh the cities identity and culture.
Process Our trip consisted of a selection of cultural experiences and local information. In collaboration with students from NARFU (Northern Artic University), we noticed a large opportunity space in the city between 'traditional' (old/abandoned) and 'modern'(fancy/new) buildings that were separated distinctly between inhabitants.
From this we devised a concept that focusses on bridging (like arching) these two worlds into a festive/festival solution with cultural probes that could be used to enable reflection and harmonization between the two worlds.
